9 week old pup sleeps a lot and has no bladder control. Is this normal?

He is almost always sleepy. Its like he has no energy and demands lots of rest. Also he has no bladder control whatsoever. As soon as he wakes up, he pees immediately. We don’t even get enough time to take him out for pee. In like 2 seconds after waking up, he pees.

However, at such young age is this supposed to be normal?

My dog did the same thing. She would sleep literally all the time, apart from an hour or two a day which she spent eating or exercising/playing. She would pee in her bed, or sometimes she’d ask for a pee,get up but wouldn’t even make it to the back door, she’d just pee all over the floor. I don’t know if its a big problem, our dog kinda grew out of it (but we also worked hard to toilet train her.) But go to a vet if you are not sure.

That is definitely not normal for a dog to urinate as soon as they wake up. Even an extremely young pup will crawl out of their sleeping place for this.

You need to have your pup checked by a vet, it could be a bladder problem or any number of things such as the beginning of kidney failure, this might account for the lack of energy.

have your dog checked out. Depending on what breed it is, it could have a genetic disease.
