My wife did the kegels faithfully trying to avoid surgery, but had to have the surgery anyway. I am not trying to be discouraging, because her doctor is convinced that if she had seen him sooner that the kegels would have prevented the surgery. The problem was that she waited until it was too late for the kegels. So, keep up the kegels and don’t give up hope !! And for those of you that are waiting, don’t wait….see your doctor soon, and start those kegels now. It is much easier than the surgery.

Unlike what Aisha said, Kegel Exercises don’t only benefit females, but males also. They are something that will take a while to work, not immediately. You can take her advice on how to allow you to last longer during sexual stimulation, but you should also continue to do the Kegel Exercises. Just like any muscle, it’ll take a while for it to strengthen, depending on how often you use it, how long you exercise it and so on.,
Read the sites I’ve listed below and others like it to find more information on it. There are many books and websites to help you better understand how to do it. You can always talk to your doctor for more information on the PC muscles and Kegel exercises. You have to do Kegel exercises consistently to see the results of this in a good amount of time. There are other methods to use to control ejaculation that last for the short time (that one sexual experience) which you have probably already figured out. i’ve posted a question on this category earlier about my bowel incontinence problem. now i’ve taken all the tests possible to assess my problem like blood test, urine test, fecal test, colonoscopy, and another test to detect fistula, etc.. and all those tests cost me a fortune! there’s still CT scan, but i’m reluctant to do it because i’ve heard it might cause allergic reaction on my skin. now the problem is, even if i do CT Scan, there’s only one option for me that is to do surgery. my doctor said the surgery will cause pain each time i pass motion. i’m only 28, so i don’t wanna live with the pain for the rest of my life. but i read on several websites that kegel exercise can help with bowel incontinence but i do not know the exact method. can someone advise pls..
I don’t know anything about bowel incontinence, but I do know a little bit about the kegel muscle. When you are urinating in the toilet, try to stop your flow of urine mid-stream. The muscle you use to do this is your kegel muscle. If you do this a few times, you will get the feel for how to use or "flex" this muscle. Then you can do exercises while you are sitting at the computer or driving your car or whatever, by just "flexing" this muscle, the same way you do when you are stopping your flow of urine.
I’ve only tried them one time so far. I squeezed for 5 seconds and rested for 10 seconds..and i did this about 10 times. I plan on doing this every other day. Is that enough to see results in a timely manner? I know all of the pros already but what are the cons of doing kegel exercises?
You should perform them around 100 times to see effect, as far as I know.

I have done kegels for a long time, way before my first pregnancy. My first child, I labored for 8 1/2 hours…I pushed for 20 minutes (no epis. or hemorrhoids either), the doctor almost didn’t make it to the hospital because the nurses discounted me as a first time mom who would push for quite awhile. The second birth went even quicker. I am pregnant with the third and will be at the hospital right away when it’s the big day to avoid giving birth outside the hospital.

A Kegel is a movement of your muscles in your groin, like what you do to hold your urine when you want to go to the bathroom. If you do these movements daily and continuously, you can achieve proficiency to "grab" your sexual partner’s "weapon" OK? now go exercise and make somebody happy!
As far as I know, it’s just the opposite. I’m not sure if it can cause more blood flow to the penis and make it harder, but doing kegels does exercise your PC muscle (muscle in the pubic region) and in theory is going to help you last longer and make your orgasm more intense. There was some disagreement about it, but can’t test it myself as I don’t have a penis.
