hi ive just had a baby and was thinking about buying a pelvic floor trainer 2 try and get everything tight again if that’s possible. ive looked at a few on the internet and im just wondering if any1 as used them and if they work.

I didn’t even realize that they sold such things. Sounds like you’d be spending money unnecessarily.

well i got the gynoflex and honestly it really works, my boyfriend told me he could feel the difference and its cool because you can see your progress, because when you can close the device its liberating!!

Yes, I have and still do (see link below).
I’m sure you’re already doing your Kegels, and they definitely help to start with.
Personally, I found I still felt a bit loose and started using the Juno pelvic excerciser.
When I began I needed my hands for every move, now I can literally work it without using my hands at all.
My husband once told me that I now have a tight grip lol, no complaints there ;-)

i had a c section 2 weeks ago and i just do not seem to have time to do pelvic floor exercises and all the other exercises, baby takes up all my time, what will happen if i don’t do these exercises? is it necessary to do pelvic floor exercises?

You can do your muscle exercises when your doing the other things washing up even in bed.

If you don’t do them then you will have a really week vagina muscles and will find that you will wet yourself when you laugh, sneeze and cough. so I really would advise even though you are really tired to multitask and incorporate it in with your routine.

i’m trying to improve my pelvic floor strength but i’m not sure if i’m doing the exercise right
is i were to sit in front of a mirror and do the squeeze and lift in front, what would my area down there look like, would it be moving upwards or what?

you should be able to see your butthole tightening up if your looking in a mirror.
if you insert a (clean) finger or two inside your vagina you should be able to feel the muscles squeezing.
and as for your pee hole, you should be able to stop yourself peeing when your doing the exercises.

try to stop your urine while urinating by contracting your anal sphincter/muscle.
the muscle that contracts during that process is the one you are searching for!!!!!!!

Had baby three weeks ago and been doing the exercises but just wondered is there anyway I can tell how strong or weak my Pelvic Floor Muscles are (I’m not planning on having sex until after 6 week check up)?

If you can hold your wee mid stream without any coming out, then relax then hold again you should be on your way to strengthening them. Also when you do have sex try and squeeze round your partner’s penis – it’s good exercise for you and he’ll love it! hope that helps

I was wondering what causes pelvic floor dysfunction?

And how does one treat it?

It is affecting my urination (contracted urethra) and bowel movements (constipation) as well as vaginal problems (less heavy flow).

This is really painful and is causing me to become miserable. =(

Hi,

I had (have) the same problem. It started about 5 years ago. I have been to every kind of Dr. and have had many tests. What ultimately was my diagnosis was muscle spasm in pelvic floor which will cause the symptoms that you described.

I suggest you talk with your Dr. about going to physical therapy with a specialist who knows how to treat PFD. There are few, but they are out there.

When I realized that my condition will not just go away and I was getting desperate and very depressed, I sought out a Pain Management clinic. They have been very helpful. I am now on low dosages of pain medicine and also I am taking anti-depressants for the pain. I am much better now. I have come to terms with my condition and finally accepted it. Now I can move on. I take my meds and I work now.

Just hang in there and check out my advice. Hope you will feel better very soon.

If you can shoot a boiled egg 6.4 mtrs across the floor, are they strong enough? (and is it wrong to eat the egg?)
