I have done kegels for a long time, way before my first pregnancy. My first child, I labored for 8 1/2 hours…I pushed for 20 minutes (no epis. or hemorrhoids either), the doctor almost didn’t make it to the hospital because the nurses discounted me as a first time mom who would push for quite awhile. The second birth went even quicker. I am pregnant with the third and will be at the hospital right away when it’s the big day to avoid giving birth outside the hospital.

I don’t know if it helps with the labor and Delivery, I had an emergency c-section, BUT it did help me not pee my pants every time I sneezed or Laughed or coughed when I was pregnant

yes, it helps so that you can have an easier time pushing the baby out, it tones the muscles so that there is less of a chance of tearing (OUCH) or the need of an episiotomy

Those exercises prepare the muscles that you will be using for delivery. It’s like when your working out your arms, the more muscle you build there the more weight you can lift. It’s sort of the same thing; except the more worked out, the better those muscle can push the baby out.

Ok it’s not going to help you during labor and delivery. But it will help you to not pee when you laugh. Just to let you know, having the baby feels like your having a 7lb bowel movement…..it feels like it’s comming out of your anus not your vagina.
